Polaris Long List Announced

The long list for this year’s Polaris Prize was just announced, with many worthy candidates among the 40 chosen. There are some expected picks — Owen Pallet, Broken Social Scene — and a few surprises to keep things interesting — Hawksley Workman, . Fucked Up were unexpected winners last year, so who knows how it’ll shake down in the end; the short list is announced on July 6, and the winner on September 20.
