NXNE Friday: Dark Mean at Sneaky Dee’s

I wasn’t sure what to expect when the opening vocals for Dark Mean’s set reminded me of Bright Eyes. It’s true that this Hamilton band’s singer can sound Obersty from time to time, but through their 35 minutes Dark Mean proved to have plenty of depth. They reminded me somewhat of a more folk-inclined Make Your Exit, and I don’t think they’ll have much difficulty building themselves a Toronto draw.
