On my vinyl to-buy list

I like to buy records. Maybe too many records, though who am I to say what’s too many? It’s good to support the industry, I think!

Anyway, here’s a look at some upcoming releases on my to-buy list. I’ll post reviews of some recent acquisitions soon as well.

The Roots — How I Got Over
buy it at insound!

This may be a bit sad, but following Questlove on Twitter reminded me that I enjoy The Roots quite a bit, but somehow do not own any of their albums. I figure that picking up their new joint is a good place to start.
Vinyl release: July 6

David Cross — Bigger and Blackerer
buy it at insound!

The special-edition vinyl of this album has black velvet packaging. I can’t not own that.
Vinyl release: July 27

Best Coast — Crazy For You
buy it at insound!

I’m pretty sure that this is going to be my summer album for 2010. I’m a sucker for rock singers who harken back to the girl-group era of the 1960s, and I really enjoyed Best Coast when I caught them last month at NXNE. Just try not to sing along with Beth.
Vinyl release: July 27

Sleigh Bells: Treats
buy it at insound!

This album has been out for a while now, actually, but it isn’t being released on vinyl until later this month. This is another summer album contender, just loud and energetic and fun. And it’s a picture disc!
Vinyl release: July 20
