Kid Koala is planning a week-long residency at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in December, which will involve a family-oriented live show based on Space Cadet, his graphic novel and soundtrack. He’s collecting donations through Kickstarter to fund the cost of the residency, and you can get a variety of goodies for pledging.

Gord Downie and The Sadies are slowly working on a collaborative album, though there’s no word on a release date. Downie is spending the summer touring with the Country of Miracles, his other musical side project.

Music blog Herohill is presenting the upcoming East Coast tour with The Schomberg Fair and The Speaking Tongues — aka the Face-Melter Tour. I just made that up then. Pretty good, huh?

Art-pop band Menomena brought their song “Killemall” — off their latest album Mines — to Jimmy Fallon last night, and Stereogum has the video to prove it!

Broken Social Scene launched their “All to All” remix series — the first reconceiving of the track was done by Sebastien Grangier.

Remember Kazaa? It’s just relaunched as a cloud-based music service. Don’t everyone rush out and join at the same time, now.

Arcade Fire pushed past Eminem to get their first UK No. 1 with The Suburbs.

Chillwave buzz-band Small Black have released a track-list and album art for their upcoming October 26th release New Chain (due out on Jagjaguar). Their self-titled EP was pretty darn good, which resulted in a lot of positive press and the opportunity to open (and act as backing band) for Washed Out on a recent tour. I’m looking forward to what they can pull off on a full-length!
