Today In Music News: Tues Sept 28

M.I.A. promised she’d play a free show in NYC to make up for the foul-up with HARD, and apparently that will happen at Brooklyn Bowl on October 6. There doesn’t seem to be any affiliation with HARD for this though, which means no special consideration for people who had tickets for that and missed out.

The National have announced details for their reissue of High Violet on November 23, with the addition of B-sides, unreleased songs and live tracks.

Jonsi is taking his revamped live show out on the road, with dates in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Edwyn Collins suffered a stroke in 2005, with serious side effects. But he’s made an amazing recovery and has a new solo record out called Losing Sleep.

The Juno Awards are adding a category for Electronic Album of the Year, which will debut at the March 2011 awards, when the Junos also celebrate their 40th anniversary.

Pheonix have been riding the wave of their wildly successful record Wolfgang Amadeus Pheonix for a while now, and for you super-fans they are in the process of releasing a nine-part documentary about the creation of the album via. YouTube.

Bahamas will spend the fall seeing Canada and the U.S. West Coast on a cross-country headlining tour, which began yesterday in Eugene.
