A documentary about Sarah Harmer’s work to protect the Niagara Escarpment premieres tonight at Toronto’s Planet In Focus film festival.

Rivers Cuomo just can’t stop collaborating with fuzzy-pop bands. First he went into the studio with Male Bonding, and now he’s working with their tour-mates and number one cat-friendly band Best Coast.

I definitely really enjoyed working with other musicians, other artists so I continued that process on Hurley. I’m still doing it actually, tomorrow I’m getting together with the girl from Best Coast and we’re going to write a song. You never know where these songs are going to end up but it could be on the next Weezer record.”

The show includes more than 200 artifacts connected to the band and the scene that surrounded them. Those items include a painting that Kurt Cobain did in high school, the reel-to-reel machine that Cobain used to record his earliest bands, and the yellow cardigan that Cobain wore constantly from 1991 until his death in 1994, not to mention hand-written lyrics, instruments, and many photos.

Will Butler — of Arcade Fire — has signed on to be a keynote speaker at Northwestern University’s Civically Engaged Young Alumni Week.

“He’s a really unique and interesting individual because he’s taken a field like music that a lot of people don’t necessarily associate with social activism,” said Asha Toulmin of the Center for Civic Engagement. “He’s a really good example of how you can incorporate that mentality into whatever you do.”

Hardcore band Every Time I Die have gotten themselves into some hot water after they faked celebrity re-tweets on twitter to promote their new DVD.

Among the celebrities included in Every TIme I Die’s fake re-tweet campaign were Kanye West, Perez Hilton, Justin Bieber and Conan O’Brien. The tweets, which are still up on the band’s Twitter account, include “RT @ConanOBrien: well @everytimeidie made some enemies, but they sure have me interested in their dvd,”
