Stream The Ruby Spirit’s “Born Under A Veil”

Maybe by now you’ve heard a few things about the debut EP Born Under A Veil by The Ruby Spirit. Like how they recorded it in an abandoned building that they transformed into a functioning studio, or how they rounded up 50 people to clap and stomp along all at once. Or maybe you’ve recently caught one of their eclectic circus-like shows (people don’t use the word Kaleidescope to describe The Ruby Spirit in print just for kicks you know).

Regardless if you’ve gotten a taste of their psychedelic-pop in a live setting or not, you should check out their brand new EP which we’ve embedded for your listening pleasure. You can hear right away the band have put a lot of effort into channeling their live energy and layered sonic landscapes into the album. Paige Boy’s vocals soar to dramatic heights while the rest of the band walk a tight balance between their danceable, catchy elements and then turning things around and getting all psych-rock on the place.

Getting back to their live performances, you’re going to want to follow up that stream by checking out their next show at the Toronto Underground Cinema (what a perfect location for their on-stage theatrics!) on Saturday, November 28th.
