PKEW PKEW PKEW (Gunshots) Release Digital “Royalty EP”

If you’ve heard the name PKEW PKEW PKEW (a.k.a. Gunshots) around lately, it’s probably because they’ve been making the rounds in the Toronto indie-rock scene playing energetic shows and gaining new fans left and right. Their infectious blend of pop-punk melodies and gang-chants from the “dude choir” have made them a sure-fire crowd pleaser. With that in mind, they’ve just released their Royalty EP for free through Bandcamp, which is streamable through the jump.

The EP consists of lo-fi-ish versions of their songs — they differ from their live counterparts in a lot of ways (“Friends Don’t Let Friends Move In With Girlfriends” appears acoustically here but is much more a full-band anthem live). The hooks are all still on display though, and they’ll be running through your head more and more with every listen. Check out the EP below, and keep your ear to the ground for more from these guys.

  1. I love these guys. They are a fun band to gig with and they were a riot on my webcast last summer. Glad to see they are making waves.
