Announcing TWM’s New Home Base in St. John’s

Below is a press release/statement put together by the fine people at High Visibility. This was a tough decision to make but one I am truly excited about.

– Dan Wolovick

Two Way Monologues is on the move! After an amazing 6 months at CBTG’s, TWM and owner Dan Wolovick are making the jump across The Deck to Distortion.  To start off this new partnership with a bang, Distortion will be launching new music series Tipsy Tuesdays on July 1st with a Canadian Music Tribute featuring a selection of great local artists playing their favourite CanCon songs of all times.

In under a year in Newfoundland so far, Two Way Monologues has accomplished so much, and none of it would have been possible without the phenomenal support of the music community. Showcases including renowned local acts like Dave Whitty & the City Superette, Steve Maloney, Another North, ToShredsYouSay? and East of Empire, and touring artists Baby Eagle, Ghettosocks & Relic, and of course the launch of the Road to CMW contest, have brought TWM into the heart of the St. John’s music scene. Distortion is the next step on that journey, and one not undertaken lightly.

The Road to CMW represents a definite high-point in the history of TWM, and its inaugural year could not have been accomplished without the wonderful staff and patrons of CBTGs. Over the course of eleven weeks, sixty-six acts in two categories competed to win airfare and showcase slots for CMW 2014, resulting in the largest-ever contingent of Newfoundland bands to play the festival. As Dan settles in at Distortion, he will also be working on revamping Road to CMW for 2015 to implement suggestions from this year’s participants, including a more transparent voting system and the addition of judging to decide the winners.

While TWM’s debut show is July 1st, already-confirmed bookings for this summer include many notable local acts and touring artists B.A. Johnston and The Breaks. For future booking enquiries, please contact:
